Will A Regimen Of Prometrium Regain My Body’s Natural Ability To Have Periods And Ovulation?
Just started prometrium 100mg to restart period hopefully. I have has amenhorrea long time, i am 32. I am also taking strong phytoestrogen. If i get a withdrawal bleed( already have had spotting) will this regimen of prometrium 14 days regain my bodys natural abilty to have periods and ovulate ?

Taking cyclical estrogen and progesterone will help in bringing about regular menstrual cycle. Success of actual return of ovulation depends on what has caused amenorrhea for you. If it is due to PCOD then you have a very good chance of regularizing the hormonal imbalance by taking cyclical estrogen and progesterone in the right dose. Regular ovulation depends on your ovarian reserve which can be known by testing AMH level in blood.
Checking for FSH level on day3 of your cycle will also help in predicting the possibility of having regular ovulation and periods. If AMH level is high or if FSH level is high then it is difficult to have regular cycles unless you are on cyclical hormones. You can also have your blood TSH and prolactin level tested (if you have not done yet).An ultrasound pelvis also helps identify the cause of your amenorrhea. If you have already done these investigations please get back to me with the reports so that i can assist you better.
