Good day, I was in an accident almost 3 weeks ago. I got both my upper and lower lips busted. They are both healing very well. But, my problem is there is a lump in each lip where the scars are. My upper lip was busted straight through. The lump was on the inner side of my lip and now it looks like its going to bust back out the through the outter side of my lip. The scar is swollen. What can I do? Will a warm pack help? Should I go back to my doctor?
After any injury or traumatic event in any aspect of the body, fibrous tissue formation occurs. This is essentially scar tissue.
It can appear in the format of lump such as those you are seeing on your lips. As healing progresses the lumps may get smaller and less noticable but this can take months.
At this stage the warm pack would not have a significant effect
If the area is still to prominent then you would have to visit your doctor.
I hope this helps
