Will Accidental Bleach Drinking Effect A 2 Year Old Suffering From Staph Infection ?
My son is two years old and has had issues with staph infections. The Dr. Has me giving him a bleach bath twice a week. 1/4 cup bleach with about 6in of water in the tub. Tonight my son decided to drink some. It was one mouth full, and I took him out of the bath. I tried to get him to spit but he wouldn't he swallowed and laughed. I had him drink his soy milk and he seems fine but I'm worried
hi.i appreciate your concern,it seems like your young one is a staph carrier.and gastric acidity and mucosa protects against gram positive bacterias.bleach may disrupt this protective layer by causing irritation and burns.but again it all depends on amount and concentration of bleach ingested.if the baby is fine and not having any burns in the mouth or vomiting and gastric discomfort probably he is safe from corrosive effect and hopefully is not in jeopardy.
