Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, my name is Alice and I am 23 years old. I have been prescribed to adder all 15 mg twice a day and it worked great for the first 7 months and then it just stopped working and I think it might have thrown me into depression. Is this normal. I have not taken it for four months
Yes, its withdrawal can cause depression. Adderall withdrawal can cause extreme fatigue, sleep disturbances, memory impairment, loss of interest in pleasurable activities, anxiety and depression. These withdrawal symptoms will usually resolve within in 1-2 weeks. However, depression induced by Adderall withdrawal can lead to suicidal or violent tendency which can pose a danger to yourself and others. In view of the above I advise you to consult a neurologist for further evaluation and treatment of withdrawal symptoms.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
