Hi dear,
Thanks for choosing Health care magic

Usually the antibiotic given for a patient with suspected bacterial sinus is Amoxicillin or Augmentin which is also the same antibiotic that would eradicate the pathogen that causes impetigo.

However, if you want a quick recovery from impetigo and relief of itchiness and it’s other symptoms I would suggest you to use the antimicrobial ointment, it's also the first line of treatment for impetigo.

You can request your dermatologist to prescribe you Bactroban (Mupirocin 2% ointment), apply on the area of lesion 3 times a day for at least 5 days.

Please remember to ask your doctor to check the lesion first to make sure it's impetigo and not other skin condition.

Also make sure to keep your hands clean.
If you touch your eyes or the area of lesion on your skin wash your hands immediately to avoid the bacteria to transmit to other areas of your body or to your children.

Wish you all the best.
