Will Birth Control Pill Be Effective While On Tetralysal?
ive been talking tetralysal for around 2 months for treatment of my skin, i stopped my pill in june as there was no need for me to be on it. i ve recently met a new partner and therefore wanted to start my Yasmin pill again. Will it be effective even though im taking the tetralysal??
No, birth control pills like Yasmin may not be effective while on tetralysal. The common side effects of tetralysal include vomiting, stomach upset, and diarrhea.
Since Yasmin pill is a combined contraceptive pill containing both estrogen and a progestin, tetralysal can reduce the efficacy of estrogen and thus an unwanted pregnancy may occur.
Moreover, if you experience vomiting or diarrhea while taking tetralysal this can potentially make your pill less effective at preventing pregnancy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care

Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
