Will Changing The Dosage Timing Decrease Effectiveness?

I just started trinessa on Sunday. I am 5 3, 115 pounds, and almost 16 years old. I am curious about how time sensitive trinessa is. Can I take it between 9-11am or do I have to take it the same hour everyday? I start school in a month and may need to start taking it at 6am. How will this effect things?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
Trinessa contains norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol tablets, which is a combination of hormones, used as a contraceptive to prevent pregnancy.
This medication needs to be taken by mouth once daily.
For convenience, it is advised for you to pick a time of day that is easy for you to remember, and take your pill at the same time each day.
You can take it any time of the day of your convenience and see that you take at the same time everyday without fail once you fix the time. Since it is hormonal preparation, it would be ideal to take the pill about 30 to 45 minutes after taking food.
You may reschedule taking the next set of pills accordingly.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
