This is the first time it's happened to me. I just drank alcohol last night at a friend's house and it was a good amount of alcohol I drank. The next day, I went to use the restroom and pooped - I wiped and noticed there was blood on the toilet paper and when I looked in the toilet, there was a good amount of blood that came out either with or after I pooped. The stools aren't bloody but blood had come out. My genitals and rectum do not hurt. I thought I was on my period at first. What can this be?
Alcohol is known to cause liver damage. One of the commonest cause of liver failure and cirrhosis is alcohol abuse. Which can lead to variceal bleeding in stomach.
Alcohol can also lead bleeding in stomach due to acute gastritis. So, it is better to avoid alcohol and get treated for blood loss.
