hello i am 27 weeks pregnant. i work as a certified nursing assistant. my job required me to do a lot of heavy lifting. will the heavy lift affect my pregnacy. i am also having very bad headache. i have cheacked my blood pressure it is currently 152 over 98.
Heavy lifting is associated with a very small increased risk of preterm labour and of having small size baby compared to pregnant women who don't do heavy lifting during pregnancy. ( The increased risk is less than 1%). What is very important is that Since your blood pressure is high and you have headache you should see your obstetrician NOW. Your blood pressure needs to be monitored. You need urine and blood tests to decide further plan of management. You should have fetal ultrasound if it was not done within the last two weeks.
