Hi, i am pregnant and i am at 5th week of my pregnancy. i was diagnosed with hypothyroidism before the pregnancy and i was taking thyroid supplements (levothyroxine) before the pregnancy. my current dosage is 100 mcg and i have been taking it for the past 2 months . my TSH came back as 19 . is it going to affect baby development physically or mentally ?
Your thyroid profile needs to be normal all through your pregnancy, so please speak to your doctor about the medications you need to continue maitaining a normal level of thyroid hormones. If not, then yes, it can affect the fetus's growth and development. But for now, there should be no problem with your fetus.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
