Will Hypothyroidism During Pregnancy Affect Baby's Health?
Dear Sir/Madam, I am six weeks pregnant and just found today tht I am hypothyroid. Am yet to know the exact figures of TSH and T4. Now am worried. I came to know tht hypothyroidism affects IQ of the baby and pose other developmental disorders. Is my baby already affected of my underperforming thyroid ??? Please help... A Worrying Mum.

Thanks for writing.
There is no need to worry.
You should start thyronorm 100 mcg as soon as possible. Your baby IQ will not be effected if thyroid problems are treated during pregnancy.
Don't worry . After 3 weeks again. Thyroid hormone levels to be checked.
In pregnancy preferably free t3,free t4, TSH to be done.later depending on the levels the thyronorm can be decreased or increased.
