Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am about to start infliximab for a neuro condition having had methotrexate and mycophenolate which didn't seem to do the trick. My main question is, will I lose my hair? Too many conflicting thoughts and answers but need something definitive as I have been led to believe it will not happen. Is this true?
Hello dear user! I have gone through your query and understood your concerns! Thank you for sharing them on healthcaremagic. Hair loss, is one of the side effect of infliximab that happens rarely, only in 1-10% of all patients. But that is a temporary loss because new hair will grow up after treatment, just like the chemotherapy. In these cases we have to make a small sacrifice for the our health. As i said even this side effect happens, it will be for a short time. I hope this answer was helpful to you! Please kindly rate it as helpful and write a short review about your experience with me! I would appreciate that a lot. Thank you and best regards! DR ERIOL.
