General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history about having had several weeks of antibiotics before Dentists could remove the teeth, but developed laryngitis, lost voice, Doctors at VA can not give the proper diagnosis.
In most of the cases there is no relation of teeth related infection and inflammation if the laryngeal part unless there is sub mucus edema that has gone from oral cavity to laryngeal part of pharynx.
Hence this should be taken as a different entity.
Losing voice can be one of the most troublesome problem one can have.
Hence I would advise you the following:
Consult an ENT Surgeon immediately.
Laryngoscopy will tell us the exact nature of the disease that is losing voice.
This can be inflammation of the vocal cords.
Singer's nodule as it is called is development of the small masses on vocal cords not allowing proper approximation.
Any sort of mass.
Inflammatory changes alone.
Once the diagnosis is correctly found it will be easy to have a proper treatment as per the cause found. These can be medicines or a surgery.
Till then give voice a complete rest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
