Will Marriage Between Cousins Cause Birth Of Abnormal Children?
dear doctor, i am arranging to marry my third cousin but i am worrying a lot about our futur babies,would they be healthy and safe from illmesses and complications considering that we have a lot of serious illnesses in our familly like diabetes,blood pressure,cancer,some physical deformation or mental diseases.i am going to make my decision according to your advice if i should marry him or not because to be honest i am not ready to have any ill or stupid babies with a low IQ. thank you

Cousin marriages don't guarantee unhealthy kids and marriages out of family dont guarantee healthy kids but yes in science and medicine we talk about chances if you carry thalesemia trait and your husband too your kid will surely have thalasemia...same way if you have choesterole issue (genetic ones) and your husband side too ....your kids surely will have it more or less ...

As you told there are issues in your family which run in your family though it's your third cousin but still there are chances that they can be transmitted to one ,all or none of your kids,,,,, any thing can happen but chances in cousin marriages are many times more
