Will My Hearing Improve After Getting Treatment For Ear Infection?

i'm 18, 5"6, about 170 pounds. My right ear close to thanksgiving was really sore and draining water. I have yet to put anything in it, or go to a doctor. Now, around a month later it's draining greenish stuff that smells awful..and it's affecting my hearing. If i go to the doctor, and get stuff for my ear..will my hearing go back to normal?

Hi,thank you for posting your query on health care magic.

Looking at your symptoms, you are suffering from a bacterial infection leading to greenish discharge from the ear.

I would be advisable to consult an Otolaryngologist Doctor. If required,he/she may clean your ear .Then probably you may need to take Antibiotic ear drops,Oral Antibiotics with Analgesic -anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen.

You also have to take care that no water should go inside ear and avoid self cleaning of ears. Also avoid cold food and dust, which may lead to cold which will aggravate your ear condition.

There is a high probability that your hearing will come back normal after the inflammation in your ear settles.
