Hello, my name is Esther and I am from India. I am in my 6th month of pregnancy. My BMI is 29.4 which indicates that am overweight. My first daughter was born through c section. This time I would really like to have normal delivery. Can it be possible. Thank you.
Hi, thanks for writing in . i understand your concern. it is very much normal to add on around 11kgs of weight in the nine months of pregnancy. about the second baby you want as a normal , it depends on your pelvic fetal index. firstly it is important if your first child was born through emergency or elective c section. if in this delivery there are no indications like pelvic disproportion or any other indications that compel your obstetrician to select elective c section, there is something known as "trial of labour" where they try to deliver baby through normal vaginal delivery. trial of labour is done provided in your first delivery 'lower segment c section was done'. in classical c section it is never taken up for trial of labour due to risks. However, it is considered safer to conduct the second delivery through c section. Since you have not mentioned the spacing between the two children i would advice you to kindly consult your doctor regarding this.
