Will Smoking Marijuana Days Before A Scheduled Surgery Be Harmful?

Hi, I smoked marijuana yesterday and I am having a metal plate taken out of my arm tomorrow. I will be receiving general and local anasthesia. I smoke about 5 times a week but there will be a 48 hr time period before my surgery of not smoking. Will there be any complications to the surgery? Do I need to notify the anasthesiologist? Is there a chance that the surgery will be delayed?

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare Magic.
Please inform your doctor about habit and last time you smoke.
Smoking reduces immunity and also healing power after operations.
It also affects heart and lungs which are vitals in surgery and anesthesia.
You should not take alcohol within 24 hours and smoking within t days.
But you had it within two days.
It affects in anesthesia so better to inform doctor and delay surgery fora week.
And please stop smoking and drinking.
Hope this will helpful.
Take care...
