Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your complain, Panderm plus cream contains steroid and long-term use of steroid based creams has severe side effects on face like skin thinning, rashes, pimples, increased hairgrowth on face and dilated veins under skin.
Once you use the steroid cream for long time then the skin become steroid dependent and then on stopping the use, there can be increased pigmentation, rashes, itching etcetera.
As you have used it for an year, I would suggest you to stop using it but under supervision of a
Dermatologist who can advise you to use a tapering method by which you will have lesser chances of
withdrawal symptoms.
You can be advised to use the cream once a day, followed by every alternate day and gradually tapering down and finally stopping. You can also start using safer
depigmentation creams like
Kojic acid,
glycolic acid and arbutin containing creams.
You can exfoliate your skin twice a week. Drink plenty of water and limit sun exposure.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora
