Hi I am 15 weeks pregnant now. I have migrane. I get headache very frequently. Till now from the time of my pregnancy i believe i have taken more than 30 Dolo 650. I am taking atleast 1 Dolo 650 in a day. Will it harm my baby? I am Worried about the side effects on the fetus. Can you please suggest
Hi! I had gone through your query and understand your concern.
Dolo 650 is the trade name for Acetominophen (Paracetamol). Paracetamol is a widely used over-the-counter analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). Experimental studies in animals and cohort studies in humans indicate no detectable increase in congenital malformations associated with paracetamol use during pregnancy. Additionally, paracetamol does not affect the closure of the fetal ductus arteriosus as NSAIDs can. The dose of Paracetamol you are taking is not high so you don't need to worry it will not harm your baby. It's better not to use any kind of drugs when you are pregnant but if your head pain is unbearable you can use Dolo 650.
Hope I was able to help you. Take care. Dr.Rovena
