Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have high blood pressure being treated by medication, but a very low fise 5mg. I also have raynolds disease and take the mini pill all progesterone. I have been excersising twice a week dieting with no weightloss success. Im always cold and exhausted and feel like I ve hit a brick wall. I have heard of the HCG 5000 drops but are they safe to take? I also wonder if they would assist me on losing weight as I really do not snack I drink water all day and eat healtjy bananas for breakfast or cucumbers carrots etc.. this has been a very quick weigjt gain gor me and I eat very little already. My thyroid was checked about s icyear ago and came back okay. Any suggestions or advice?
No, taking the HCG drops are not advisable as they are hormones used for other medical conditions not weight loss. The diet does cause weight loss but also gallstones and blood clots. Your problem is you have dropped your basal metabolic rate to a point you are too fatigued to do anything to get it back up and you can't lose weight because you cannot create an energy deficit. That is what is causing your exhaustion and difficulty exercising. You have little glycogen and what you do have is used up quickly when you attempt to exert yourself. To raise your metabolism begin by drinking green tea three times a day; start with low carbohydrate or you will gain water weight and focus on slowing increasing carbohydrate and emphasize low fat protein sources and good fats like cooking with canola oil, using virgin olive oil, nuts, etc. As The green tea will increase your metabolism as will caffeine. Once it starts going up you can add a little more carbohydrate. If you need more guidance, feel free to come back to HCM. Kathy Shattler, MS,RDN
There is varying opinion on HCG diet. It is normally combined with a low calorie diet so the low calorie foods contribute a lot to weight loss.
You may want to increase the frequency of your exercise till you exercise 150 mins to 200 mins a week.
Visiting a nutritionist may also help to make changes to the diet that may help with weight loss. There are 2 main types of diets, low fat/low calorie and low carb.
You should choose the one that best suits you and stick to it persistently .
I hope this helps
