Will Taking Isosorbide Help Cure Cardiac Cath?

I just had cardiac cath. on Tuesday and no blockages. Pressure in heart is twice what it should be per dr. He prescribed 20 mg. of isosorbide mononitrate and just started yesterday. Question why is my blood pressure especially diastolic so low Yesterday it was 85/56 This morning it was better at 143/70 but by 4 pm it was 99/56. I have felt light headed today and still with chest tightness and fluttering which is why they did the cath any suggestions or thoughts thanks

Hi welcome to HCM.
The low blood pressure in your case is due to the drug isosotbide mononitrate. This drug has propensity to cause headache and low blood pressure due to its predominant vasodilatory action.Reducing the dose of this drug can improve the blood pressure.in most cases the blood pressure returns to normal spontanaously with weaning of the drug effect.I advise you to have a baseline ecg and in case of any changes suggestive of fresh CAD,i request you to see your doctor in person.
Thank you.
