Will Taking Welbutrin Help Induce Sleep With Zoloft For Major Depression?
Hi there. I ve been taking Zoloft (sertaline) for major depression for... quite some time (at least several months) without any side effects. Recently, I started developing major apathy and flatness which was interfering with my ability to work or really do anything at all. I asked my doctor if I could add Welbutrin into the mix in order to give me a bit of energy and hopefully up the motivation quotient.. Well, I have been on both Zoloft 50mg and Welbutrin SR 100mg for about a week and a half and I find myself extremely drowzy about.. 2 to 3 hours after taking the combo. Is this drowziness a temporary side effect as my body adjusts to the new medicine, should I start taking the combo at night and risk that I might end up not being able to sleep... should I talk to my doctor to increase the welbutrin dose (even though I never used to get drowzy).... so many questions. Just can t stay this sleepy... I fall asleep on the way to work, fall asleep all day on my days off.. it sucks.
I admire your positive outlook and congratulate you for the attitude.
You may have chronic depression and it could be due to some stress in your personal life. In that case, you need some help.
However let me give my opinion here.
I think a combination therapy of sertraline with wellbutrin. In that case, you can first increase the dose of sertraline and then wellbutrin. That would you better result as sertraline is more effective than wellbutrin. You can try some relaxation exercise like JPMR or deep breathing exercise. That would keep you calm and relax.
