Hi,
Please ask your doctor for a trans-vaginal sonogram to confirm the pregnancy, location of the gestation sac and also the age of the pregnancy. Only then is it advisable to ingest the medication. Ectopic pregnancy should always be ruled out before the procedure. Misoprostol is usually effective in doses of 600-800 mg.; lower doses may cause incomplete abortion. Thus taken, the procedure is almost always effective and a follow up sonogram is needed to confirm the completion of the procedure. Hope this helps.
