Will Taking Respirdal Consta Injection For A Long Time Cause Side Effects?
what kind of long term side affects can be attributed to getting the respirdal consta injection for 11 months? I didn t menstruate the whole time I used this medication and began to lactate along with major weight gain. I quit taking it for those reasons in 2008 but now have been having bad pains on my right hip in the area where my nurse would do the injection. although they would alternate from one side to the other I am only having problems on the right. any ideas?
Well other than lactation ( due to hyperprolactinemia ) and weight gain some other common side effects of this depot preparation are --dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, dry mouth, indigestion, constipation, runny nose, loss, acne, dry skin, or redness/swelling/pain at the injection site which is what you have been having and the reason for right side being painful could be attributed to more use of that site than the left one for injection.
You may use a painkiller for this pain it shall resolve the pain and use left side more often than the right one until the pain is gone and then you may again alternatively use the sites for injection.
I hope this helps.
Regards
