Will There Be Any Side Effects In Taking Primidone For Tremors?
I started taking Primidone 50mg a little over a week ago for essential tremors. I ve developed a small rash on my face that started the day after taking it and now it has gotten a little worse and bigger with each passing day. It s slightly itchy, inflamed and very red almost looking like a sunburn. I thought it was my rosacea acting up, but I don t think so. This looks different. I ve applied cortisone 1% which has provided some relief, but I wonder if I should stop taking this med all together. I can t get in touch with my doctor until Monday and have read that I shouldn t suddenly stop taking this med. I m not sure what to do and going to an ER will cost hundreds if not over a thousand dollars.

Will There Be Any Side Effects In Taking Primidone For Tremors?
Hi, Primidone, during the stop, should be gradual tapering and stop. If you stop suddenly, it may worsen your condition (convulsions). Short duration gap will not problematic. Consult your doctor immediately and follow the advice. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Puvvula Kishore Kumar, Dermatologist
