I am at 4th month of pregnancy and I have light bleeding last week.On ultra sound scan the doctor said every thing is normal, but suspected softening of cervix. But also she put me on trapic mf. And also yutoper. Is there any side effects on having this
Hi, Thanks for the query. Trapic mf contains tranexamic acid. It is an antifibrinolytic drug, helps in controlling bleeding. It belongs to category B drugs in pregnancy. Yutopar contains ritodrine. It is a tocolytic drug, helps in relaxing the uterus. It also belongs to category B drugs in pregnancy. Means animal studies didn't show any adverse effects on the fetus but sufficient human studies are lacking. So, you can use them as suggested by your doctor. After the spotting gets controlled, you can continue the pregnancy with progesterone support with your doctor's advice. Take care.
