Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My doctor said my vitamin d was low and told me to start taking 1000 units a day .I did .Now I have a bad rash on my arms, only took 2 days, woke up sick on the third day nausea and out of it, I couldn t stay awake. felt better the fourth day but broke out in this bad bad rash.what to do now.
From your symptoms..It seems you have vitamin D allergy.. Your daily dosage is in limits and its not cause of allergy..
So stop taking vitamin D and take antihistaminic syrups like Avil for rash relief..
Then consult your doctor.. He might suggest some dose reduction/ magnesium supplemets which sometimes prevents this allergy/ change of route like skin patches or sublingual forms which dont cause gut related vitamin D allergy/ he may stop vitamin D completely and advise you sunlight and vit D foods rather tha supplements
But you need to choose methods under physicians supervision as Allergy may become severe sometimes...
Hope my answer clarified your doubts..
