Wisdom Teeth Removed, One Hole Has Not Healed. Used Syringe, Hard, Foul Smelling Discharge. Treatment?
I m 21 and I had my wisdom teeth out almost two weeks ago, everything has healed perfectly except for one of the holes which hasn t really healed at all. After trying forever to clean it out with mouthwash I decided to try a syringe , and what came out were 4 massive hunks of white hard flemmy smelling gunk. Is this normal? Will the hole ever heal up!?
Hi Annie.
Thanks for writing in.
I read your problem,i will suggest you do not try anything yourself like syringe.
Your dentist might be given you few instructions after extraction, you should follow them properly.
Your wound will heal-up with in a month,so do not get worried about the hole. And you are talking about the white hard flemmy smelling gunk,it is not normal, for this i will suggest you please visit your dentist once for check-up of that area as soon as possible.

hello
as u dentist give u some instuction .. than why u touch ur wound... which wisdom toooth u should write.... any pain present.... or about 2 to 3 months take time for ur socket closed ... if any problem go and take advise ur dentist....
Hello
Welcome to HCM
I would suggest you don't do anything by your own.
Just follow the instructions given by your dentist.
Take complete course of analgesic & antibiotic as prescribed by your dentist.
Don't worry your wound has already started healing as you said that white lump is granulation tissue.
Do betadine gargles twice a day.
Consult your dentist for regular check-up.
Hello there...wound healing normally takes place in 2-3 weeks time....this is the time required for the mucosal covering...dont worry thats normal...comming to white junk you were mentioning....thats the food material that has gone into the socket...that decomposes and results in foul smell...Soon after you eat gargle well and maintain a good oral hygiene....
hiiii
it is strongly recommended that you should not try anything like syringe or inserting any other foreign object in your wound.....it might lead to infection or could further worsen your condition.
please follow the instruction given by your dentist only don't follow any unauthentic persons advise.
well for the white smelling liquid you mentioned it would be best if you go for physical examination of the wound to your dentist.
