With Thyroid Function Being Normal Should My Nodules Be Removed?
I JUST HAD A THYROID NUCLEAR SCAN. I HAVE MULTI-NODULES ON RIGHT SIDE. A GOITER. NONE OF THE NODULES WERE COLD. ALL ARE WARM AND FUNCTIONING. HAD AN ENTIRE THYROID PANEL DONE ALL THYROID LEVELS ARE WITHIN NORMAL LIMITS. WILL I HAVE TO HAVE IT REMOVED?
Hello and thank you for asking on HCM! I can understand your concern. Usually warm nodules have a very low probability of malignancy. Your physician will recommend thyroidectomy if you have symptoms of compression of the adjecent structures from the nodules you reported. For a personalised comprehensive evaluation, treatment recommendations, or individual therapy, ask me at HealthCareMagic at this private link: HCM Dr. Guni
