I just got out of the shower and I noticed on the fatty part of pubic area under stomach I have three nots that are blue in color. Not painful, but I had not noticed them before and I am really worried. I am 60 and have not had sex for a long ime and I don t shave around that area. What do you think it might be?
It could be folliculitis. It usually occurs after shaving, when hair is accidentally pulled out, and inflammation and infection occur, or when there's an irritation or an inflammatory reaction from the chemical contents of your feminine wash.
Inflammation from uninfected follicles will subside in a few day's time on its own. If the lesion, gets infected, a cyst or an abscess formation might ensue. If symptoms persist, a consult with your gynecologist is best for clinical evaluation. Management (medical or surgical) will be directed accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
