Worried Of Black Stool, Please Give Me Your Suggestion

Hi, My son is 2.5 years old. He got cold and cough, we got him medication and that got subsided. After 3 days later he has loose motions (Stool) continuously with stomach cramps Doctor suspected Amebiasis and treated him. Loose motions got controlled and he is fine. But his stool color continues to be black he is fine and no other complains. Color of Stool is black since 3 weeks. He is under no medication now, Doctor suggested not to worry with the color of Black Stool. Please help us understand why stool color continues to black. Thanking you in advance

Hi.. Black color of the stools can occur due to discoloration by a few medications.. It can also indicate bleeding inside the gut..
