Would Aortic Valve Replacement Help In Treating Aortic Stenosis?
I now have severe aortic stenosis with mild aortic root enlargement......I havebeen told it is hereditary......If they replace my aortic valve....they think it is bicuspid........why must I have the root repaired? wouldnt the replacement of the valve take thepressure off the root?
Hello,i have gone through your question.i will certainly agree that you will need aortic valve replacement as you have severe Aortic stenosis.regarding root repair,i would like to tell you that the valve we replace is to be stitched with Aortic root.if that root is dilated it becomes week and may not hold stitches well.so it needs repair as well. i wish you all the best.
hello, I have gone through your query. Thanks for using HCM. you need Aortic valve replacement for severe stenosis. As your root is enlarged it needs to be repaired so that it holds the replace valve firmly and properly.you must undergo surgery and it will be successful. My best wishes Dr.Rajesh Teli.MD
