Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 46 year old male (6 1 280 lbs) who has a heart murmur from Rheumatic fever when I was 8 years old. I have been on high blood pressure medicine for 5 years. I sleep with a CPAP machine as well. I have just been diagnosed with a Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm (5.4 measurement). Would my heart murmur be the cause of this Aneurysm? Can this be a sign of heart disease? Is it necessary to have the murmur fixed as well as the aneurysm? What are the chances of this happening again?
Hi welcome to Hcm Murmur in your case is secondary to Rheumatic heart disease.Sporadic aorta aneurysm could be related to valvular abnormality.Get regular echocardiography of your heart and consult your cardiologist.thankyou
