Would Sex Be Safe Because The Herpes Virus Is Asleep?

Hello! My name is Zabel and i had a question about the herpes simplex virus 1... I was wondering, as long as the herpes is dormant and non-active thus not appearing anywhere on my face, would i be able to have regular sex with my partner? Would it be safe because the virus is asleep?
