Would Smoking Marijuana Effect Eye Post Corneal Transplant?
hello I ve just recently had a corneal transplant on my right eye 3 days ago, I d like to know what your thoughts are on smoking marijuana to help sleep better thru the night , will marijuana effect the eye in any way? ( By the way I have not smoked marijuana since the surgery)
hello user, thanks for contacting HCM for your query. smoking marijuana is not a good idea for you , as the smoke has numerous chemicals that interfere with the healing process of the body (you underwent a recent surgery0 , and if you are on antibiotics, it would affect their action too. these effects are apart from all other negative effects of marijuana - also regarding your concern for sleep , if you report the problems to your treating doctor , he can provide you some relatively safer medicine for sleep like antihistaminics, zolpidem etc and if you are having long term sleep issues - do consult a psychiatrist for evaluation and treatment - marijuana effects on sleep is complex , it alters the sleep architecture and decreases the NREM phase of sleep - and altering this physiological sleep pattern would not be a good idea . hope i answered your query- if satisfied please rate the answer . any followup queries are welcome
