Would Taking Keppra And Trileptal Be Suggested For Seizures?

hi, my child is taking keppra and trileptal for seizers and recently he is acting abnormal, talking to himself, seeing someone with their presence, laughing with out any reason and crying without any reason at the same time. he continually talking. he has trouble sleeping also. and have fears like to doctors is coming and somebody is scaring him etc. i am very scared of his condition. he also have vp shunt which is working fine since he had all the check up done. please let me know who i should consult first, his neurologist or physichitrist

His symptoms could be related to Keppra adverse effects. You should know that this drug, besides being really effective in the control of seizures, can cause different psychiatric disorders as an adverse effect.
For this reason, I recommend consulting with his attending doctor for a careful physical exam and a psychiatric evaluation. Switching from Keppra to another antiepileptic drug may be needed.
