Would You Advise For Surgical Abortion If The Foetus Has Stopped Growing?
Good day, i went for a scan at 10 week and was tokd that the fetus stopped growing at 7 weeks and no heart beat, i am not bleeding or spotting, Evacuation was adviced but i have not gone for it, will not having the evacuation on time affect my womb?
Dear member, Thanks for writing to healthcare magic. I am extremely sorry for your loss. when the fetus has stopped growing and no heart beat is is called missed abortion. There is more harm in waiting for spontaneous abortion. if you are nervous about pain during evacuation ask your doctor for anaesthesia. Surgical evacuation done with good antibiotics cover will usually not cause any trauma to uterus. You can discuss medical abortion with your doctor where you can take tablets at home you can abort at home. But sometimes there can be retained pieces in uterus when again you may need surgical evacuation. Kindly discuss with your doctor. Thanks Dr Bhagyashree.
