Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I sprained my ankle 9 days ago. Went to urgent care...X-rays showed no fracture. Diagnosed with grade 2 sprain. Swelling is down somewhat and bruising was much better. Today after walking some, I heard a pop and felt pain and then felt itching. When I looked down at my ankle, there was a very new purple bruise where I felt the pop. I have sprained my ankle a lot, but this one hurts more than usual. Any thoughts?
You can wait for one more week to recover from sprain.you must be taking analgesics with serratopeptidase tablets along with rest.
If your symptoms still persists then MRI can be done.
MRI can detect soft tissue injury very clearly.
Get well soon.
Take Care

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
For grade 2 strain ankle immobilization is required for 10-14 days. It seems you had put weight early before healing and got sprain again.I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. Do icing and elevate the limb, you can take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid putting weight and rest well.
Hope this helps you.
Regards.
