Hi,
Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.
It seems from your daughter is suffering from the problem of "folliculitis" over the
scalp area.
Folliculitis is a common problem which arises due to blockage of pores of oil glands which are attached to the hair shaft. Due this blockage we feel the sensation of mild itching or
tingling which may get converted into pain sensation.
It is a common problem over hairy areas such as at scalp and other hairy areas. In your daughter it appears to be due to the initiating factor of playing a netball carnival in extreme heat.
As there is yellowish discharge from the same means it is infected now and needs proper attention. I request you to kindly meet a
dermatologist or any family physician who can prescribe a proper antibiotic course so that the infection can be controlled.
In between for the betterment kindly follow the advise below:
- You can do warm water compresses over the affected area.
-Keep her self away from hot and humid climate.
-Ask your daughter not to scratch or rub or even touch the area, as can lead to further aggravation of the problem.
Hope these informations are helpful.
