Is It Possible To Conceive With Retroverted Uterus?
my doctor said that i have a retroerted uteris and that its so severely tilted that its covering its own hole nothing can get in and barely out it causes severe pain for me and on top of that i seem to not be able to concieve what surgery would you suggest for m to look into
More than 40 % women in the world are having retroverted uterus, and not all of them are having any difficulty in conceiving. Once upon a historical time, there was a misbelief that retroverted uterus leads to infertility, which now has been proved to be false. If, as you have mentioned, it is severely retroverted uterus blocking its own opening, it will require correction by a surgery called as ventral suspension. Such a severe retroversion also causes congestion of the uterus giving rise to pain which you are having. Some times it leads to pain in the abdomen during intercourse also. So in short your retroversion is symptomatic and hence you will need its correction. Please report to your Gynaecologist who will take care of this.
