Is Tonsillitis, Related With Ulcers In Mouth And Swollen Lips?
My daughter is 3 and her Dr. said she has tonsillitis. She has had a fever for 5 days and an ulcer on one of her tonsils. She woke up with ulcers all throughout her mouth now with swollen lips that are blistered looking. Now the ulcers are clearing, fever is gone, lips look better with blistex that I'm applying every hour...but she keeps complaining of abdominal pain. So bad that all she wants to do is lay down. Is this normal for tonsillitis?
As she had throat infection causing Tonsillitis it is commonly due to bacterial infection [strep throat] and the bacteria from the throat can migrate into the intestines causing stomach ache and can also cause other symptoms like Loose motions.. Other cause can be side effect of antibiotics which might be given to her to treat throat infection.. Nothing to worry, you can consult her treating physician and get evaluated and in case of stomach infection antibiotics can be advised to her to treat the infection and relieve the pain.. If it is side effect antibiotics once the intake will be stopped gradually the stomach pain will relieve.. Feeding her with more of probiotics like Yoghurt will replenish the good bacteria of intestine and relieve the pain..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
