Hello and welcome to HCM.
Thank you for your query.
Your presentation does match that of a possible
pregnancy. I would first request you to repeat a home pregnancy test, and this time with an early morning urine sample. As this result would be most accurate.
Both alcohol and
smoking can cause serious damage to a fetus, and I would advise you to abstain from both till your pregnancy status is more clear. Also, have you completed your course of antibiotics? And when was this? Sometimes, medication can also delay a period, although your period is almost 10-15 days late, which is unlikely. You have also not mentioned whether or not you have always had regular periods, if this is the first time you are experiencing irregularity in your periods, there is certainly some underlying cause to it.
Another important aspect which needs some mentioning here is that
nuvaring also has all the symptoms that you are experiencing as side-effects. For your better understanding, I shall list them out to you:
-Breast tenderness or enlargement
-Changes in menstrual cycle
-Abdominal cramps
-Appetite changes
-Allergic rashes
-Changes in weight
-Psychological effects (eg.
depression,
nervousness, etc.)
-Vaginal bleeding or discharge
-Nausea/vomiting
-Temporary changes in fertility
and a few others. So all your symptoms could be related to the novaring, I would thus request you to please consult your doctor for the same.
An
abortion pill can be taken up to 9 weeks after the first day of a woman's last period, so there is still time. Although I would advise you to consult your doctor about this first.
I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.
Best wishes.
