7 year old 20 kg with vertically transmitted HIV on HAART and septrin prophylaxis started anti TB treatment 2/12 ago and soon after that got symmetrical pain and swelling of the 4th toe of both feet. It has persisted to date and x-ray does not show bone involvement.

Hi
Thanks for posting your query.

Your toe swelling could be due to accumulation of salt called Uric acid. Why I am suspecting this is some anti TB drugs can increase the level of uric acid in blood .
To confirm the diagnosis you need to get serum uric acid levels and if elevated there are medications which will reduce uric acid level.
Kindly revert back with the report.
