Hi, I have developed dark patches on my cheeks and a line across my nose. This started during my pregnancy two years ago. I ve tried sun protection and kojic acid creams but the marks have not reduced. In fact they have grown and cover my cheeks. Please advise. Thanks
Hi. As per your case history you are having melasma, my treatment advice is - 1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with spf more than 30. 2. Avoid cosmetic creams and other home remedies. 3. Apply a glycolic acid lotion like glyaha lotion once at night on dark skin lesions. 4. Other treatment options are chemical peeling, laser resurfacing done by a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
