Vaginal Polyp.

Hello I am 23 and just discovered I have a vaginal polyp. I wanted to know 1) Is it the same as a cervical polyp, 2) How can it be treated, 3) what are the risks of treatment? My doctor told me that it was close to my bladder and there is a chance of hitting the bladder. How accurate is she, or should I seek another doctor?

hi
welcome
cervical polyps are more common than vaginal...but they do occur.
if they are benign lesions no need for worry..get an biopsy done by a gynaecologist
which will confirm it..it requires a minor surgical excision
thank u

Hi there,

Vaginal polyp is something growing out of vaginal mucosa

Cervical polyp is growth from cervix.

Treatment might involve excision. If its close to bladder, then it is wise to take opinion from a urologist too before deciding for surgery. Take a second opinion if you are too very worried about it.
