What Is The Cause Of Chest Pain?

I feel pain in my chest similar to one when I'd accidentally swallow a too large of a piece of food and it moves slowly down the food pipe (esophagus?) .. except that this pain came on its own (ate a couple of hours ago without any "accidents"). What could it be?

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your situation and problem.
By your history and description, possibility of either esophageal motility disorder (esophageal spasm) or GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) is more.
So better to consult gastroenterologist and get done upper GI (gastrointestinal) scopy for the diagnosis of these conditions.
Following things will surely help you to reduce symptoms.
1. Avoid stress and tension.
2. Avoid hot and spicy food. Avoid junk food. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals.
3. Start proton pump inhibitors and prokinetic drugs.
4. Keep 2-3 pillows under head in the bed to prevent reflux. Go for walk after meals.
5. Loose weight if you are obese. Quit smoking and alcohol if you have these habits.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have solved your query. Wish you good health. Thanks.
