What Is The Next Step After A Urine Cytology Test?
A urine cytology test has shown negative for malignant cells, rare transitional cells and many contaminant squames are present. I have been cystascoped last year for diagnosis of microscopic (2 plus) bleed in urine and was told that this bleeding is caused by uterine fibroid which is pressing on the bladder and thinning the membrane. I had a kidney infection last year but no current symptoms. Do I require further investigation? Thanks
As you already underwent urine cytology test which is negative, it is good. As reason for microscopic bleed in urine is because of fibroid, so I will suggest consulting with gynecologist and doing needful.
At present you don't have any symptoms, so you do not need to do any test. If still problem persist, then I will advise to do urine analysis and CT scan abdomen and pelvis after urologist consultation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
