What Causes Muscle Spasms After The Knee Replacement?
I was perscribed Methocarbamol 500 mg following knee replacment surgery. Muscle spasms have gotten worse on the operated leg. When they occurr, I am screaming out with the pain. The knee part of the surgery is doing great = it is just these muscle spasams that are sendig me through the roof . The muscles in back of my operated leg feel so tight and taunt - like they are just waiting to go ito another spasms. HELP
Are you sure that these are muscle spasms. Pain and swelling in the back of your calf following a knee replacement surgery are consistent with a deep vein thrombosis and it would be important to exclude this if this with an ultrasound scan of the veins in this part of the leg if that is where your symptoms are.
