What is Braxton-hicks?

These are also called practice contractions as they are a preparation for the real event and allow the opportunity to practice the breathing exercises taught in childbirth classes. These are infrequent, irregular, and essentially painless. Sometimes, though,these are hard to distinguish from early signs of preterm labor.
