I am giving Dr. Khalil a 5 out of 5! Dr. Khalil, I have to thank you for your answer to my question because it has finally opened my eyes to what I believe has been food allergies all along (30+) years. I was always under the impression that my fever blisters and stomach ache was a result of herpes simplex (which I have), or hormonal issues. My primary care physician (who has known all along about my symptoms has finally started testing me for gluten allergy and I have been referred to an allergist. I'm finally hopeful that I can get to the bottom of this, stop taking massive amounts of lysine, and not suffer any longer, with doctor's looking at me with no answers. Since researching this more, it appears that my thyroid nodules might be a result of the allergen(s). Apparently, the protein in casein and gluten mimic the protein in the thyroid, so your body will attach the thyroid. So thank you very much for opening my eyes to this!!! Sincerely, Jerri Klinker
